Special Edition: Interview with Boaz Shoshan

Welcome to AI Collision,

Generated by DALL·E

Today is another one of our much-loved special editions, where we interview someone within AI or with a unique perspective on the AI industry.

Previously, we’ve sent out interviews with:

Today, we’ve got a top-shelf guest with us who has a unique perspective on AI developments but also comes at it rather sceptically.

He’s also a former colleague of ours and our co-founder of the brilliantly funny (and often lively) podcast, Booze, Booms & Busts.

He’s known for having a replica AK-47 at his old desk and for being a top-class presenter and speaker around the world.

Today, we’re in conversation with Boaz Shoshan.

AI Collision 💥 in conversation with: Boaz Shoshan from Sec3

Boaz Shoshan is currently working with the security and research organisation, Sec3. Sec3 provides cybersecurity and blockchain auditing to Web3 companies.

But the company has also been involved in research into large language models and AI. Sec3 recently released what it refers to as Owl LM, “the first open-source, web3-native large language model.

Today, Boaz is on the call with us to talk about what AI is or, more importantly, what it isn’t. Along with how automaton ducks are eerily similar to what’s happening in AI right now.

It’s a great discussion, which no doubt will raise some eyebrows and generate a lot of conjecture.

Make sure to leave any comments or points of discussion below.

Enjoy.

Artificial Pollteligence 🗳️ : The Results Show

Last week, we ran a poll asking if you had any AI-specific stocks in your portfolio.

We were a little surprised when the No votes took the win.

You can check out the poll results from last week here.

This got us thinking: if you don’t have any AI stocks in your portfolio, why?

Is it that you don’t know which ones, that you don’t know which ones are good or just that you don’t think that investing in the market now is a good idea?

So, in this week’s poll, we would like to know…

The outcome of this poll might mean a lot for the direction of AI Collision in the future…

ChatGPT’s random quote of the day

“I have always been convinced that the only way to get artificial intelligence to work is to do the computation in a way similar to the human brain. That is the goal I have been pursuing. We are making progress, though we still have lots to learn about how the brain actually works”

– Geoffrey Hinton

good interview Sam; more Boaz – as a considered voice – always good to hear.

RrquetlVictor Ndlovu

Are the “Booms” some sort of recommendations?

Sam Volkering

No, not at all, it’s just market data about companies that have some involvement with AI that are either up or down for the trailing week.
