4 minutes of mayhem with 100% destruction

Welcome to AI Collision 💥,

In today’s collision between AI and our world:

  • F-117 and Apache
  • B2 and Fury
  • Easter Island uncovered

If that’s enough to get the bunkers getting busted, read on…

AI Collision 💥

I was just a kind in 1991 when the US decided it was time to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi occupation.

Operation Desert Storm was an intense display of America’s military and aerial strength.

I remember the news stories at the time, and there were two lasting images that stick with from back then.

One was this thing,

The other was this,

In a documentary about Desert Storm a former Apache pilot described the initial attacks as “four minutes of mayhem and 100% destruction“.

But after this weekend, this will be thing that sticks,

I never really understood what Desert Storm and the subsequent conflict all meant until later in life. And I guess even now we struggle to understand the constant revolving door of “who’s building nukes next?” in the Middle East and the responses it generates.

Maybe it’s oil related. Maybe it’s justification for greater spending on the US military machine. Maybe it’s both. And maybe it’s a whole bunch of other stuff I’ll never be privy to.

I would love to hear your thoughts on why these conflicts always kick off. Make sure to leave a comment later on. It’s not isolated to any one political party or president either. Run it back through Bush Snr, Bush Jnr, Clinton, Obama, and even further back, they all loved a bit of Middle East war.

Anyway, I don’t decide who goes to war. Neither do you. What I can control is how my money is impacted by it all. Because socially, it has no impact on me, it has no impact on my kids, nor my day-to-day life.

But it does impact my wealth. So, I need to figure out how to navigate this every time it happens (and it will happen again in my lifetime and my kids).

You can defend against it, or you can roll with it.

For example, had you held BAE Systems (BAE) stock for the last few decades, you’d have comfortably hedged yourself against conflict.

If you go all the way back to 1991, you’ll see that BAE would have made you a lot of money over the decade as war in the Middle East became a regular part of geopolitics.

Northrop, Lockheed, RTX, General Dynamics all have fared well too. And it’s these companies that you’d think will continue to fare well over the next decade because it’s hard to see America not being at war with someone.

It’s also why I think the Anduril Industries IPO will be one of the biggest IPOs in history. Because they’re in the running to develop the next generation of AI-enabled, collaborative combat aircraft (CCV).

Anduril’s Fury is their take on the next-gen “wingmen” for US Airforce pilots.

It’s just one of the many autonomous systems Anduril is developing.

BAE as well is another that’s far along the autonomous path, with autonomous combat vehicles like their ATLAS collaborative combat variant (CCV).

It might have been Apaches and F-117s that were the lasting image of the Middle Eastern conflicts in the 90s.

But now it will be the Furys and ATLASs and B2s that are the enduring images of the 2020s and beyond. And I expect the Andurils and BAEs that continue to provide the best hedge against the constant presence of warfare.

Worried about the unpredictable market right now?

Fear not. A new executive order just signed by Donald Trump could ignite a $15.7 trillion AI bull market… one that may be immune to the chaos shaking the broader financial system.

James Altucher – former hedge fund manager and New York Times bestselling author –  has just released a presentation revealing the three best ways to take advantage of this historic wealth creation event.

  • I love fonts. I know that’s a bit odd, but there’s something about a good font that just makes things better. So when I saw an article about what happens when AI comes for our FONTS I just had to read it. And it’s pretty good!
  • This really is the primary, and probably only genuine fear that people have about AI. Is it misplaced? Is it the next big philosophical question of humanity…with AI? Is the answer to it, perhaps the key to the meaning of life?
  • I recently bought a pair of Oakley sunglasses with their PRIZM lenses and they are by far the greatest lenses I’ve ever had in a pair of glasses. Now I see Meta and Oakley building out AI glasses…YES PLEASE, I will 100% look to get myself a pair of these. I’ll let you know when they arrive!
